Terms of use
In short: be decent to other people, never use Motora in a way that distracts you from driving, and don't post anything illegal or abusive. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Motora Club renews until you cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings.
Who we are
Motora is made by Woul Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17541819). In these terms, "Motora", "we" and "us" mean Woul Labs Ltd, and "you" means anyone who uses the Motora app or this website.
By creating an account or using Motora, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Motora.
Who can use Motora
- You must be at least 13 years old.
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- One person per account. Don't pretend to be someone else.
Driving safely
Your safety, and everyone else's on the road, comes first.
- Don't use your phone while driving. Set up anything you need before you set off, and follow the law on phone use where you are.
- Speeds, speed limits, routes, fuel costs, harsh driving and other driving figures in Motora are estimates. They can be wrong and are not a record you can rely on, for example with the police or an insurer.
- Meets, planned drives and groups are organised by users, not by us. Obey the law, drive within the limits and never race on public roads. You take part at your own risk.
- Only share your location with people you trust, and be careful about who you meet in person.
Community rules
You're responsible for everything you post, including photos, videos, messages, comments, meets, number plates and profile details. Don't post or do anything that:
- is illegal, or encourages dangerous or illegal driving;
- harasses, bullies, threatens or discriminates against anyone;
- is sexual, hateful, violent or graphic;
- shares someone else's personal information, location or number plate to target them;
- infringes someone else's copyright, trade mark or other rights;
- is spam, a scam or advertising that we haven't agreed to;
- tries to break, overload, reverse engineer or get around the limits of Motora, or uses bots or scraping.
You can block anyone from their profile, and report posts, messages and users in the app. We review reports, normally within 24 hours, and remove content that breaks these rules. We may also suspend or delete the accounts of people who post it.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, display and share it in order to run Motora and show it to the people you choose. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other users have already shared or that we must keep by law.
Motora Club
- Motora Club is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, bought through the App Store or Google Play. The price is shown before you buy.
- Payment is taken by Apple or Google when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app or your Motora account doesn't cancel it.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
Carbon
- Carbon is Motora's in-app currency. You can earn it in the app or buy it through the App Store or Google Play.
- Carbon and the items you unlock with it are a licence to use them in Motora. They have no cash value, can't be exchanged for money and can't be transferred or sold outside Motora.
- Purchased Carbon is added to your account straight away, so by buying it you ask us to supply it immediately. This doesn't affect your legal rights if something you bought doesn't work as described.
- We may change how much Carbon things cost or how it's earned. If we close Motora, we'll give reasonable notice.
Ads
Free accounts see some ads, as described in the privacy policy. Motora Club members see none.
Our app
Motora, including its cars, garages, characters, designs and code, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use it for your own non-commercial use. Car makes and models are named only to identify them; Motora isn't endorsed by any car manufacturer.
We're always improving Motora, so features can change or be removed. We try to keep it running smoothly but can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from your profile in the app. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the law, or that put other people at risk.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights as a consumer, or our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, we're not responsible for:
- losses that weren't a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms;
- what other users post or do, including at meets and on drives;
- loss of business or profit, as Motora is for personal use.
Apple and Google
If you got Motora from the App Store, Apple's standard licensed application end user licence agreement also applies. These terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. They aren't responsible for Motora or its support, but they are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them.
Changes
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and if the change is significant we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or the EU, you also keep the protection of your local consumer law and can bring claims in your local courts.
